From Those I’ve Worked With
Here is what my mentors, managers and peers have to say!
As a talented UI/UX designer on my team, I have had the privilege of supervising and mentoring Rachit since his induction in March 2024. Across several demanding projects, he has consistently demonstrated creativity, adaptability, and a strong sense of purpose.
Rachit approaches his work with thoughtfulness and diligence, designing interfaces that are intuitive, user-focused, and visually appealing. His work on a conversational AI chatbot tool, an e-learning platform, and a data dashboard for a non-profit showcased his ability to balance research, usability, and visual design under tight deadlines. He also created detailed service blueprints that effectively communicated customer journeys and service interactions.
Beyond design, Rachit’s strong work ethic, receptiveness to feedback, and collaborative nature make him a pleasure to work with. Humble, eager to learn, and always ready to help his teammates, he continuously seeks to grow while contributing meaningfully.
His dedication, creativity, and professionalism make him a valuable asset to any team, and I am confident he will bring the same excellence to your program.
I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Rachit Singhi and mentoring him through the Mathematica project, a complex data visualisation initiative. Throughout our collaboration, I was consistently impressed by his rapid growth, strong sense of ownership, and eagerness to learn.
Rachit approached the project with remarkable autonomy and successfully led it through to the handoff stage, an impressive accomplishment for someone at his experience level. He demonstrated exceptional receptiveness to feedback, implementing it thoughtfully and swiftly, which greatly accelerated his learning curve.
His ability to collaborate seamlessly with researchers, engineers, and product managers reflected both his adaptability and strong communication skills. Beyond his design contributions, Rachit showed real initiative by taking ownership of key decisions and driving aspects of the project forward, signaling his potential as both a creative thinker and a future leader.
I am confident that Rachit’s curiosity, dedication, and collaborative spirit will continue to fuel his success. He is a talented and promising designer with a bright future ahead.
Having closely known Rachit, I have observed his exceptional design aptitude, creative problem-solving skills, and commitment to innovation, making him an outstanding candidate for advanced studies in Design. Rachit excelled in several of my courses, including Interactive Design, Service Design, and Sustainable Design, consistently earning top grades and demonstrating determination and ingenuity in hands-on, real-world projects.
His projects highlight both technical skill and empathy. He designed a luggage management service to improve mall shopping experiences, a solar-powered dehydration system to enhance sustainability in the jute industry, and an automated table loom aid incorporating Arduino technology, earning approval for a utility patent. He also developed a geometric compass for visually impaired students, demonstrating his commitment to inclusive design.
Beyond academics, Rachit has mentored juniors, collaborated with local artisans, and integrated traditional knowledge into his projects, reflecting his holistic approach to design. His strong academic foundation, practical experience, and ability to address complex challenges with innovative, empathetic solutions make him a valuable addition to your program. I am confident he will excel and contribute meaningfully to your institution.
I worked with Rachit on a very exciting project. We were tasked with redesigning and redefining the visual language and packaging of one of India’s largest and oldest stationery manufacturing companies. When I began working on the project, Rachit presented his visual and data-driven market research, which was incredibly well-presented and beautifully simplified on Miro. It was entirely done by him, and I remember being surprised when he said it was his first time ever creating something like that.
We then moved into route exploration, where Rachit demonstrated that he uses logic and is very receptive to feedback. He’s also quick to incorporate suggestions while asking the right questions if he disagrees. He showed independent thinking and does not blindly follow instructions.
While packaging design was a new subject for him, he picked up Adobe software very quickly and used online forums to find solutions to problems. He researched and referenced very well, which was reflected in the work he presented.
He was sensitive to typography and motivated to learn everything in detail. He wasn’t afraid to admit when he didn’t know something and put forward his ideas confidently. He used AI effectively and was able to articulate his ideas well enough for AI to give us the results we wanted.
He was very friendly and approachable to work with, eager to learn, and I would love to work with him again.
Rachit worked under my mentorship across several courses, including System Design, Design for Special Needs, and Design Research Methods, as well as his final graduation project. He consistently demonstrated strong proficiency, achieving the highest scores in his batch. His work reflected creativity, analytical precision, and a deep understanding of human-centric design principles. He approached every design challenge with structured ideation, prototyping, and iterative testing, ensuring practical and innovative outcomes.
Rachit stood out for his clarity of thought, strong research orientation, and ability to integrate ethnographic insights into design. He was an active contributor in discussions, often offering perspectives that deepened collective understanding. His collaborative spirit, maturity, and communication skills were evident in the way he guided juniors, shared knowledge, and took initiative in department activities.
During his time here, Rachit undertook projects that reflected both social awareness and creative application. He developed a mechanical tool to assist flower vendors by reducing physical strain, collaborated with local artisans on sustainable product development, explored STI management systems for marginalized communities, and designed educational tools addressing emotional well-being. His research work on the psychological effects of touch led to a co-authored paper titled “A Mixed Method Approach to Study the Effect of Touch on Self-Identity,” selected for presentation at ICoRD’25.
His curiosity, empathy, and disciplined approach to design make him a thoughtful, self-motivated designer with great potential for advanced study and meaningful professional contribution.
It is my pleasure to recommend Rachit, with whom I collaborated extensively for more than three years. In every project we tackled, Rachit consistently stepped up to lead. He demonstrates a clear talent for project management, from initial planning to final execution. His greatest strength is his ability to create alignment; he makes sure all stakeholders are in sync and that every team member is empowered to do their best work. Rachit’s oversight ensured our projects ran smoothly and, most importantly, were delivered on time. He’s also a creative problem-solver, and I've come to rely on his valuable input. He is a true professional, and I give him my highest recommendation.

A Mix Method Approach to Study the Effect of Touch on Self-identity
This study examines how touch influences self-identity, trauma, and personality development. Through interviews and visual methods (n=15), it revealed the impact of gender bias, social norms, and gaps in early education. The insights informed the design of an educational activity kit for children (ages 8–13) that teaches boundaries and emotional awareness.

Design for now, sure — but also for what’s next.
Well-designed screens often look complete until product scope expands, exposing cracks when new data, features, or use cases are introduced. Scalable design is about anticipating growth through flexible layouts, strong foundations, and systems that adapt gracefully, so products can evolve without constant redesign.
